Featured cheeseBeemster Graskaas is back! Beemster cheeses come from the quiet, canal lined pastures of North Holland. The pastures are on land reclaimed from the sea. The sea clay soil grows lush and delicious grass that produces the sweet milk used to make Beemster cheese. Graskaas is made once a year from spring milk. Only 2000 wheels are made and we are delighted to be able to offer it to our customers. Graskaas is soft and mild with a lingering finish. A perfect cheese for Summer get-togethers and picnics. |

grape and company offers a variety of artisan cheeses from local Wisconsin producers as well as great cheese making regions across the world. We carry unique and unusual cheeses such as Manchego from Spain and Beemster from Holland as well as excellent examples of more well-known cheeses such as Hooks 5 year Cheddar from Wisconsin. Excellent when enjoyed while young and fresh. grape and company is the only location in Wisconsin that makes fresh mozzarella everyday. The texture is creamy and smooth and the taste is delicate yet stands up to strong flavors such as sun dried tomatoes or red wine. If you have never had fresh mozzarella come in and we would be glad to give you a taste. Goat chevre and goat cheese with honey are also excellent examples of fresh cheeses. Soft ripened cheeses such as the Saint Andre triple crème brie and the Fromage d’Affinois are perfect with some bread and good wine.
Semi soft cheeses are creamy and rich and typically melt well. An excellent example (and grape and company customer favorite) is the Arina goat gouda with the texture of gouda and the tangy flavor of goat milk. One of our most popular cheeses – Beemster 12 month from Holland – is an excellent example of a semi-hard cheese. Aged long enough to develop a rich nutty flavor but still soft enough to have a creamy texture. Manchego and Pecorino Toscano cheeses are also great examples. From the classic Parmigiano-Reggiano to more unique cheeses such as Pecorino Romano by Locatelli, grape and company offers excellent hard cheeses that will enhance any dish or are great eaten on their own with a good wine. From classic Stilton to the Cabrales blue from Spain wrapped in oak leaves, grape and company has a stunning array of blue cheeses. Try one of our blue cheeses with a fruity wine or a port.
